Using Braai Club's premium boerewors burger patties, this burger is surely going to hit your taste buds like a rib tickler from Pieter Steph Du Toit.

Serves 4

Prior to braaing the burger patties, coat with a touch of garlic olive oil

Braai the burger patties until juicy and don't forget to add some vintage mature cheddar on top towards the end so it melts over the patty.

Use brioche buns for this burger to make it extra decadent.

To make the avocado mixture you need the following ingredients (mix all into a bowl);

  • 2 avocado, mashed

  • 2 tablespoons freshly chopped coriander

  • 2 tablespoons red onion finely chopped

  • 1/2 jalapeno pepper finely chopped

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper

  • Juice of 1 lime

Next comes the caramelised onions:

  • 1 onion thinly sliced

  • Add 1 to 2 tablespoons of butter to a warm pan

  • Sprinkle in some salt and pepper

  • Once the butter has melted, place onions in the pan and fry over a low heat until golden brown

  • A dash of Balsamic vinegar reduction is optional

Layer it as you wish with the avo mix, caramalised onions, rocket, lettuce and tomato.

If you want to be cheeky, add some crispy pork rashers for that added flavour and texture..

For the burger sauce we love WAZ's BBQ Hut Sweet Embers Cherry Cola Sauce. It pairs beautifully with this burger..

Or you can make your own quick burger mayo sauce and add that to the top bun:

Mix 1/2 cup mayo,

3 tablespoons BBQ sauce of your choice

2 teaspoons Dijon mustard and spread liberally
